I’m a sixty-something woman who’s managed to squeeze a fair bit into life so far. I’ve lived in the UK, Germany, and now Portugal, where my husband and I are ruled by Ralph, our dog with very firm opinions. Over the years I’ve worn many hats: holiday camp photographer, seller of multimillion-dollar villas to billionaires (yes, really), caterer, comedy magazine writer, carer for the elderly, and even manager of a pony sanctuary charity. Quite the mixed bag! But food has always been the thread that ties it all together—whether feeding others, sharing stories, or just having a laugh in the kitchen. This cookbook is a little slice of all that: recipes, memories, and a sprinkling of humour. Because if you can’t have fun while cooking (or occasionally rescuing something from being burned), then you’re doing it wrong.
